Daisy Noton
Daisy Noton studies at the Junior Royal Academy of Music with Susan Torke and was a BBC Young Musician Woodwind Finalist 2020. She has performed as a soloist with the London Mozart Players, Sussex Concert Orchestra, Hastings Sinfonia and at numerous venues in the UK including Glyndebourne and St John’s Smith Square, London. She is a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain, has played at the BBC Proms and in 2018 was appointed principal flute of the International Composer’s Festival Orchestra.
The Birds’ which was composed by Polo Piatti was anonymously commissioned by a generous benefactor and dedicated to Daisy. The world premiere was on the 7th August 2020 at the Opus Theatre, Hastings. ‘The Birds’ was inspired by the multitude of birds that could suddenly be heard once more when human activity came to a standstill during the global pandemic in the spring of 2020
